S-500 Prometheus
Strategic anti-ballistic / near-space SAM
Newest and highest layer of the Russian air defence. Designed against ballistic missiles, hypersonic weapons and targets at the edge of space. The first regiment entered combat duty in late 2025, reportedly protecting the Crimean Bridge and strategic assets. Not a field system but a strategic shield — it fills the outer shell above the S-400.
