Light multipurpose guided missile for attack helicopters; ground-launched since 2026

Light guided missile from KBM (Kolomna) for attack helicopters, used against Ukraine since at least 2022. It first flies to coordinates by inertial navigation with satellite correction, then sends thermal imagery to the operator, who selects the target and guides the missile in — so the target need not be visible at launch. This lets a helicopter stay outside the range of most MANPADS and SHORAD. At the Tsentr-2026 exercise (Oct 2026) Russia showed a ground launcher, Izdeliye 347, firing a modified LMUR out to 20 km.

General

Type
Light multipurpose guided missile (air-to-surface; now also surface-to-surface)
Manufacturer
KBM, Kolomna (High Precision Systems holding, Rostec)
Carriers
Mi-28NM, Ka-52M, Mi-8MNP-2; ground version Izdeliye 347
Use
Against Ukraine since at least 2022

Performance (open sources, not independently confirmed)

Mass / payload
105 kg; 25 kg high-explosive fragmentation warhead
Speed
up to 230 m/s
Max range
≈ 7.8 NM (14.5 km); UR-305UD modification (reported June 2025) ≈ 13.5 NM (25 km)
Guidance
Inertial + satellite correction to coordinates, then a thermal seeker with the operator in the loop (target selection and terminal guidance)

Ground version Izdeliye 347 (Tsentr-2026)

MoD claim
Stationary and moving targets out to 20 km; operator guides the missile in the final phase; used against mock artillery positions found by aerial reconnaissance
Vehicle
Militarnyi sees an armoured 6×6 Ural with two missiles and a communications mast; Defence Blog describes an unarmoured truck. Topwar (12 Oct 2026) names the protected Ural-63706-0010 'Tornado-U' with an anti-drone cage and two launch rails, which supports Militarnyi's reading — Topwar is a Russian pro-government outlet, RU Mil Tracker e-20261012-s06
Demonstration
One hit at 13.9 km; another missile missed in open ground by a few metres (Militarnyi)

Threat

To air defence
Helicopters can strike SHORAD, radar and artillery positions from outside MANPADS range; the ground version offers the same precision without a helicopter
Countermeasure
The operator link and video link are potential EW targets; early detection of the helicopter or launch vehicle
Threat level
Medium per round, high against static high-value targets close behind the front
