Kh-69
New low-observable air-to-surface cruise missile for the Su-34, Su-35 and Su-57
The VKS's newest tactical cruise missile, designed by MKB Raduga and first shown in 2022; the export version is called the Kh-59MK2. Its flat, angular low-observable body fits the Su-57's internal weapons bays, and it flies very low on a turbofan — reportedly down to ≈ 20 m above the ground. Used against Ukraine since February 2024, first against power plants (the Trypilska plant near Kyiv was destroyed in April 2024, with Kh-69 debris found on site), later also with a cluster warhead. Ukraine can intercept it: in October 2024 a cluster version for the first time, and in October 2025 Air Command East downed one with a cheap laser-guided APKWS rocket. In 2026 Ukrainian officials link Kh-59/69 strikes to both Su-34s and Su-57s (including Dnipro, 3 May 2026), and according to Militarnyi Kh-59/69s hit the grain bulk carrier GOLDEN LEO in the Black Sea on 19 July 2026.
