Gerbera

Decoy drone — now also a 'Seeker' variant, confirmed armed examples and an incendiary variant
RU

Saturates air defence; newer variants also usable as strike/ISR platform or with a warhead

Originally a cheap, unarmed variant that resembles a real attack drone in signature, meant to make expensive interceptors expend themselves before the actual attack wave arrives. Since mid-2026, Militarnyi reports a standardised 'Gerbera Seeker' variant with INS, a 12-element jam-proof Kometa-M CRPA antenna, an optical camera and mesh-modem signal relay — no longer purely a decoy. NOTE: sourced from a Ukrainian volunteer (via Militarnyi), not yet independently hard-confirmed, though partly corroborated by GUR characterisation. Separately, Polish military prosecutors confirmed on 16 Sep. 2026 that a recovered Gerbera-2 carried an operational warhead — the first forensically established evidence that, alongside decoy and sensor variants, armed Gerbera-2s are actually being used.

Dimensionsfor imagery analysis

Drone (L × span)
2.0 × 2.5 m
Max. take-off weight
30–40 kg per WEG — other reports lighter; uncertain. Probably outdated for the October 2026 incendiary variant: with a 63 l tank and a 10 kg warhead the weight is likely higher (no figure in the source)

Characteristics

Classic variant
No armament — pure decoy/saturation
Signature
Resembles a Shahed/Geran to sensors
Gerbera Seeker (2026, unverified)
INS + Kometa-M CRPA + camera + mesh-modem relay; autonomous terminal-phase target tracking after loss of operator link
Mesh modem identified (Oct 2026)
The Insider and Nordsint traced the unmarked mesh modem from an upgraded Gerbera (with a vertical tail fin, summer 2026) to the XK F-359 made by Shenzhen Xingkai Technology (previously labelled XK-F358). Line-of-sight links of 100–300 km, so a few relay drones can keep a whole strike group connected; also found in Banderol drone-missiles. Undercover, Xingkai invoiced 500 units for delivery to Alabuga (19.5 m yuan) — source: The Insider / Euromaidan Press, RU Mil Tracker e-20261024-08; not independently confirmed
Armed variant (confirmed, Sep. 2026)
Polish military prosecutors found an operational ~4 kg high-explosive fragmentation warhead with fuze on a recovered Gerbera-2 (Rusinowo, Polish Baltic coast, found 14 Sep. 2026) — forensically confirmed, separate from the Seeker variant — source: RU Mil Tracker e-20260919-12
Incendiary variant (claim, Oct. 2026)
Gerbera-2 with a 10 kg high-explosive fragmentation-incendiary warhead plus an extra load of incendiary mixture in a separate soft plastic tank behind the main charge — probably to start fires in infrastructure and warehouses on impact. Depending on range, the Gerbera carries 4–10 kg according to the source. It also has a heavier ~275 cc piston engine (Izhevsk) instead of the DLE60 (~61 cc), a 63 l fuel tank instead of 10 l and a 12-element Kometa-M12 anti-jam antenna — source: Euromaidan Press/Militarnyi (18 Oct 2026), RU Mil Tracker e-20261019-06; based on Ukrainian photos, not independently confirmed

Relevance

Effect (classic variant)
Every intercept of a decoy is a missed chance at the real threat
Cost logic
Extremely cheap compared to the interceptor that downs it
Reported Seeker-variant use
Per Ukrainian GUR, used against gas stations, trucks, buses and cars — source: RU Mil Tracker e-20260728-03
Incidents outside Ukraine (24 Sep 2026)
During a Russian attack, a drone that police provisionally identified as a Gerbera crashed near Cernița (Moldova) — the first found in Moldova; a camera-equipped Gerbera crashed near Solca (Romania) after F-16s were scrambled. Romania did not confirm its origin; the Gerbera identification comes from ISW-based reporting. Source: Euromaidan Press/ISW, RU Mil Tracker e-20260926-06
