Installing on Android

Get the file onto the phone itself — via a link, email or USB.
Open it. Android will say the app comes from an unknown source — that is expected for an app distributed outside the Play Store.
Tap Settings in that message and allow installation from this source (your browser or file manager).
Go back and confirm the installation.

Installing a later version over an existing one keeps your progress. Uninstalling first will clear it.

iPhone and iPad

There is no App Store version. Instead the site installs itself as an app: the same content, the same offline behaviour, its own icon on the home screen. Nothing to download by hand.

Open the web app

Open adepti-academy.nl/app in Safari. Chrome and Firefox on iPhone cannot add apps to the home screen.
Tap the Share button — the square with the arrow pointing up.
Choose Add to Home Screen, then Add.

About 14 MB downloads the first time — do that on Wi-Fi. After that it runs with no signal at all. Installing it this way also means your progress is kept: Safari clears the storage of an ordinary website after seven days, but not of an app on the home screen.

What works without a connection

Fully offline: EW, Intel, AirDefense and Drone Academy, including the knowledge checks and the case scenarios.
Offline except the map background: the Scenario Creator — symbology, orders of battle and document export all work; map tiles and terrain intervisibility need a connection.
Needs a connection: the Russian Military Tracker, the Intel Briefing Dashboard and the forum. The two dashboards fall back to the last data they retrieved.

Course content updates itself in the background whenever the app is opened with a connection — on both platforms, and without reinstalling anything. On Android the app also tells you when a new version of itself is available, so the APK above is the only file you ever download by hand. On iPhone there is nothing to install at all.
